French e-invoicing and e-reporting implementation delayed

On the 28th July 2023, a decision was taken by the French Ministry of Finance to postpone the implementation of the e-invoicing and e-reporting reforms, which were originally due to be implemented on July 1, 2024.

The reason for this delay is in response to concerns raised by stakeholders during the consultation period in regards to the short period for the proposed implementation. The delay aims to ensure a smooth transition and provide companies with more time to implement the necessary system changes.

There has been no confirmation as to the new revised timeline for implementing same but it is expected that the timeline could now be pushed out by at least a year. The French parliament will discuss and agree the revised timeline for the implementation during the debates related to the finance law process for 2024.
