UK – Autumn Statement for 2023

The UK government recently announced their Autumn statement for 2023 which included the following amendments relating to VAT.

The 0% VAT rate currently applicable on women’s sanitary products will be extended to include reusable period underwear from 1st January 2024.

The 0% VAT rate currently applicable on the installation of energy saving materials will be extended from 1st February 2024, to include technologies such as water source heat pumps.

From 1st February 2024, the 0% VAT rate will also apply to installations in buildings used solely for a relevant charitable purpose.
